Leeds v Bristol | DJ2tee | Mixcloud

I recently paid a visit from Leeds in Yorkshire to my daughter in Bristol. During my trip I met up with DJ Stryda, Pinch and Peveralist. Three innovators on the Bristol music scene. It got me thinking about the musical heritage of each city. Bristol in the South West with its bass heavy sound and Leeds in the North with its history of electronic music. So I decided to do a mix which was a sound clash between the cities. Some of the music is bang up to date and some is there for historical interest. So without further ado:

In the Bristol corner: Peverelist, Portishead, Joker, Tricky, RSD, Rip Rig & Panic, Massive Attack, Smith & Mighty, DJ Krust, Roni Size, Dubkasm, Pinch and The Pop Group.

In the Leeds Corner: Ant Orange, Stateless, Jack Sparrow, Gang of Four, Oli Hemingway, The Wedding Present, Headcleaner, Conflux, Bo Legz, Micoland, Kidkanevil, Rusko and East Park Reggae Collective.

Two great cities battle it out for the title of heavyweight champion of innovative music.
